Winter Sessions

If you are like most, winter does not seem like the ideal time to have a photography session...especially in Detroit Michigan! Oh the cold! Despite the cold days in Grosse Pointe and Metro Detroit, Dana Rose Photography loves winter sessions! Snow on the ground and snow falling make for wonderful timeless pictures especially for little ones!

I believe there is some magical about a babe's first winter and a toddler enjoying the snow. As we get older we tend to dread the cold and snow, and it is easy to forget those days long ago that we looked forward to the snow and playing outside in winter! I just love seeing little ones looking around in wonder at snow and toddlers laughing and running around in it.

We are having a pretty white winter here in Metro Detroit, if you have not thought about outdoor winter portraits in the past, I encourage you to do so this winter. I prefer to do petite sessions in winter where the goal is to get a gallery of 6 images. I always do them either in front of my house or with a really warm car close by to warm up in and with really little ones, I keep sessions very short, or do them in 15 minute intervals with warm ups breaks.
