Let her run | Grosse Pointe Child Photographer

I am a huge believer in letting kids be kids, especially during a photo shoot! After all, most parents want photos that capture and reflect the child's personality...sometimes they are looking for a certain expression or "that" smile.

For toddlers, I like to bring them to a safe, natural location with pretty light, and just let them be themselves.

For each child I photograph, I try to get to know them a bit before shooting by talking with their mom or dad about what makes tick. For Sammie, I knew in past photo shoots she would not go far from mom, look at the camera. I figured getting her to run would make her smile and get her away from hiding by mom's legs! More importantly, she had fun getting her photos taken.

What I love most about the photo above, is not the background, the movement or that joyous expression...it was the fact that when her mom saw the print she said "That's my Sammie!". When I heard those words, I knew I did my job.
