Some Bunny is One!

Photographing little Esmae was so much fun. This little cutie had the perfect amount of smiles and serious faces to capture...and she had the most beautiful, shining blues eyes!

Her mom wanted both an outdoor winter session and an indoor studio session. So I combined the two! Her outdoor session was done in the afternoon at one of may favorite winter spots in Grosse Pointe. I love this spot because the light is stunning, and even though we are in the middle of the city it always looks as though we are somewhere secluded. And there is minimal traffic, so it safe for walking babies and small children.

One thing I really love about photographing babies around their 1st Birthday is many are not yet walking or at least not walking a lot so they are often content sitting or standing and are curious about the camera. This also helps winter sessions go quickly. Often times we are only outside for 15 minutes.

The indoor portion of Esmae's First Birthday Session was done at my home studio in Grosse Pointe Park. I chose my grey background as I felt it would complement the winter tones in her outdoor images. And her mom chose to use a few items from my client wardrobe. I was thrilled when she wanted to use the bunny ears...they are just too cute! And even though Esmae is a winter baby...spring is just around the corner.
