Metro Detroit Outdoor Newborn Photo Sessions
A lot can be said about the year 2020. I have many, many gripes about many things 2020. However, the year 2020 also brought me a really unique opportunity. For the last four years, I have offered outdoor newborn sessions, but only a few clients took me up on the idea. Before coming to me, most had a traditional indoor session in mind. Don't get me wrong I love doing indoor sessions, but something about bringing a baby outside really stirs something inside of me.
For years, I have had visions of little babies wrapped up, all warm and snugly sleeping outside in the peaceful beauty of nature. I have collected props and wraps and bonnets specifically to be used outside. I have developed a system for keeping babies comfortable for the outdoor session, in fact my outdoor babies seem to be more settled than my indoor newborns. I honestly think they enjoy being outside. I have developed a workflow that keeps the session moving and as short as possible all while capturing a beautiful set of unique, timeless images.
The fact that being outdoors is safer during this pandemic had people calling me all summer long asking for outdoor newborn photos! Finally I was able to bring my ideas and vision to reality. Now, I did have a lot hurdles in finding locations. Many locations were closed or were limiting the amount of time you could spend on site and many were just too busy to use. But I scouted and searched and now I have a variety of spots throughout Metro Detroit that are perfect for my outdoor newborn photo shoots.
