When I say I love what I do, I seriously mean it. Capturing these little newborn babies out in nature is not just fun, it fills my soul and gives me energy. I look forward to every newborn shoot I do and when fall comes I get excited for the beautiful colors, but sad that my outdoor newborn sessions have to come to an end.

When expectant parents call to discuss my outdoor newborn sessions, they often ask if it will be too cold in October to shoot outside. And most often it is not. I have a method based on temperature that I use to keep the little ones snugly and warm. In fact they almost always sleep soundly the entire session! I always have parents prepare to have to feed them while we are together, but in the five years I have been offering outdoor newborn photography, I have had only one mom need to feed her baby during the session. They love being outside.

The images from these shoots are timeless, beautiful and unique. For me they are more work than indoor newborn sessions, but they are so worth it!

This little guy was three weeks old when I photographed him and he was just perfect.
